Halloween 2012

Since our neighborhood was lucky enough to have had little damage from the hurricane, it was decided that trick or treating would go on.  Iron Man and our little pumpkin had no problem filling there bags with candy.  Aubrey even had her first lollipop!

The parents had a carving contest at the clarks.  The kids judged.... three way tie!

Aubrey managed to get herself some candy too!

Hurricane Sandy

On October 29th, Hurricane Sandy made landfall over New York City.  We waited at home, prepared as we could be with groceries, flash lights and bottled water.  Thankfully, besides being scared at the howling winds outside our window, our home was left unaffected.  But many parts of our city and state were devastated. The storm surge flooded the coast, and brought NYC to a standstill.  The entire lower half of Manhattan lost power, and the subway system was completely flooded. There was no school or work for an entire week.  It was nice to be home spending unexpected time together.  We baked and played games, and  attempted to be helpful by gathering supplies for so many of our friends who lost so much.  We hope that everyone recovers quickly.

Jane's Carousel seem to float on the East River as the storm surge took over Dumbo

The Long Beach boardwalk, so many good memories.

After the water retreated, walls of sand were left, They look like giant snow banks.

You could not tell the tracks from the platform on the subway

Ghost, Goblins and Grandma

We spent the day with Grandma and Aunt Amanda at a pumpkin farm on Long Island.  We had such fun on the hayride.  We even got to pull a red wagon to put our pumpkins in, that Aubrey loved to hitch a ride in.  And guess who else was picking pumpkins that day -Elmo!

Fort Greene Fall Fun

We love our neighborhood -and there seems to be something each season that reminds us why.  In the fall, its the Fort Greene Park Halloween Happening.  The whole neighborhood comes out, mostly in costume, to play games, dance and run around in our beloved park.  Aubrey fits right in with all the neighborhood kids, ready to play!

My little Pony

Our good friend Chloe celebrated her first birthday at white post farms -what a fun celebration!  Grahm and Aubrey had a ball.  They ran around the pumpkin patch, fed the animals- baby bottles, and Aubrey even had her very first pony ride- which she was completely amazed at.

Balloons

A gorgeous day at Fort Greene park, and bonus: balloons!
